Dear GWP-SEA SC Members and CWP Representatives,
Since you have registered to participate, I would like to confirm that based on
the decision taken in Yogyakarta Steering Committee meeting on 17th June 2009,
arrangement has been made to hold the 18th GWP-SEA Steering Committee in Myanmar
from Tuesday 15th up to Friday 18th September 2009.
The main objective of the meeting, as agreed in the 17th SC meeting, will be the
preparation of 2010 Work Plan. Some other related important topics to be
discussed will be including (1) 2009 Implementation Progress, (2) Review of 2009
-2013 Strategy and Work Plan, OM Concept, (3) Networking, Fundraising, Technical
Function, (4) RBOM Workshop Report and (5) preparation of GWP-SEA 2006 -2009
Report.
As agreed earlier, the 18th SC meeting will be combined with a Field Trip in the
third day and a Technical Discussion on Water Related Disaster Management in the
fourth day.
Meeting participants are required to read enclosed Tentative Agenda, having regard
that a definite agenda will be adopted before the meeting.
The Regional Secretariat will cover the costs of SC member and his/her alternate
(maximum two persons per country), including travel costs, and per diems in
accordance with GWP travel policy. Country representatives who are attending the
meeting due to the unavailability of SC and alternate SC members are requested to
submit an official appointment letter from the CWP Chair.
Participants need to arrange their own travel arriving at Yangoon on Monday 14th
September, and departing on Saturday 19th September. Itineraries are expected to be
received by Secretariat as early as possible, for hotel room booking. Should
an individual invitation is required to obtain visa, please inform Myanmar Water
